How FreeImageToolkit Works

FreeImageToolkit uses client-side JavaScript and WebAssembly to process your images. Everything happens locally in your browser using your device's processing power. At no point does your image get uploaded to any server.

When you select an image, it's loaded directly into your browser's memory. All transformations (compression, resizing, filtering, etc.) are performed using HTML5 Canvas and JavaScript APIs. The processed image is then available for download directly from your browser.

What We Don't Collect

Your images — Never uploaded, never stored, never seen by us
Personal information — No accounts required, no registration needed
Tracking cookies — We don't use them
Browsing history — We don't track your activity
Device fingerprints — We don't collect them

Local Storage

FreeImageToolkit may use your browser's local storage to remember your preferences (such as default quality settings). This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Google Fonts — For typography. Google may collect anonymous usage data per their privacy policy.
Cloudflare — For hosting and CDN. Cloudflare may collect anonymous analytics data per their privacy policy.

AI Background Removal

Our AI background removal feature uses machine learning models that run entirely in your browser. The model is downloaded once and cached locally. Your images are processed on your device and are never sent to any server for AI processing.

Children's Privacy

FreeImageToolkit is designed for general audiences and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13 years of age.
